Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!
The Race headquarters are in downtown Wausau in what is called the 400 Block. This is an open park bounded by Scott Street, Jefferson Street, 3rd Street and 4th Street. If you are familiar with the Artsblock and the Grand Theater - the 400 Block is directly in front of the Grand Theater.
To approach downtown from Highway 51/39, take the Stewart Avenue exit and head East into Downtown; Stay on Stewart Avenue for about 17 blocks; after it crosses the Wisconsin River pick one of the parking ramps downtown. The Jefferson Street Ramp is the closest but it is only a short walk from the Penney's, Sears or McClellan Street Ramp. There are also several outside parking lots just a block East of the 400 block.
If Stewart Avenue is congested with Race traffic, you can also approach downtown using Bridge Street to the North or Thomas Street to the South. If you choose Bridge Sreet, head east on Bridge, cross the river and then take a right (Southbound) on 5th Street. If you take Thomas Street, head east on Thomas, cross the river and turn left (Northbound) on Grand Avenue.
Volunteer Parking is in Lot 20 at the intersection of Scott and First Street.
On Race morning, roads entering downtown Wausau will be open until close to race time. Just before race time, the race route will close. The route will only be open to emergency vehicles during the race and subsequent walk.
