Event Activities

If you've never participated in a Susan G Komen for the Cure Race/Walk, this will be an event you will NEVER forget. Here is just SOME of what is in store for the Central WI Affiliate's 2nd Annual Susan G Komen Race for the Cure...

1. Race Day: August 21st, 2011. Everything from registration, packet pickup, the survivor tent and all of the national sponsor tent's will be open at 7am.

- In-person registration at Race Headquarters located in Wausau Center Mall next to Sears - open from 7:00am to 8:30am

- Packet pick-up at Race Headquarters located in Wausau Center Mall next to Sears - open from 7:00am to 8:30am

2. Survivor celebration!

- Survivors and immediate family can join us at the Grand Theater Great Hall at 7:00am.

- Survivor breakfast: 7:00am to 8:00am

- Survivor parade around the 400 Block: 8:00am to 8:15am

- Survivor photo: 8:15am

3. 5K Race/Walk start - wave start.

- 9:00am - Chip-timed runners

- 9:15am - Non Chip-timed runners

4. One mile family walk start: 9:20am.

5. Awards ceremony: 10:45am

6. Kudos to St. Paul's United Church of Christ. 

The St. Paul's UCC family in downtown Wausau (426 Washington St) is sponsoring a pancake breakfast on Race day from 7:00am until 9:00am.  There will be a free will offering with all proceeds going to the Central Wisconsin affiliate of Susan G Komen for the Cure.

St. Paul's is also providing free bottled water on their front steps to all Race participants.  A survivor service will also be held at their usual 9:00am worship time.

7. During the entire event local and nationals race sponsors will be giving away tons of free goodies and everyone will be celebrating breast cancer survivorship on downtown Wausau's 400 Block!
