Volunteer

Our volunteers come in all sizes, shapes and colors, but their hearts are pink and their caring has no limit. Are you a leader, a thinker or a doer? Use your talents in our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever!  We need you now more than ever. Volunteers provide countless hours contributing their skills to further the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® promise. We will work with your availability.  Every minute you spend helping gives another minute of hope to those affected by breast cancer.

We have many committees and each committee has it's own volunteer needs.   Please read through this overview of the committees, find an area that interests you and fill out the application link above.   In the comment section, please list committees that you'd be interested in volunteering for.

NOTE:  If you are only interested in volunteering for the Race for the Cure, please 1)fill out the volunteer application above and note in box 19 that you wish to help with the Race for the Cure.   2) Please also Email Heather Kapitz at heather@prioritypt.com , who, along with Kim Susens, is coordinating the volunteers for the Race.  They will contact you and find an appropriate position for you.  Thank You very much for your interest and willingness to help!

COMMITTEE INFORMATION

ADVOCACY COMMITTEE:  
Jennifer Smith, Chair
   - Contact legislators to promote funding for screening, diagnosis, treatment,
      support, and insurance coverage
   - Attend Lobby Day in Madison
   - Testify as a survivor or a family member affected by breast cancer

EDUCATION COMMITTEES: 
Affiliate Education Committee - Dr. Pamela Galloway, Board VP
Race for the Cure Education Committee (“I Am the Cure”) -

   - Distribute information about breast health and Susan G Komen for the Cure at county fairs and other events

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE:

  - Update website content for affiliate
  - Set up event enrollment on website
  - Manage donor and volunteer information on website
  - provide reports to affiliate staff using website

EVENTS COMMITTEE:
Beverly Sartori, Chair
   - Plan events for fundraising and awareness
   - Organize event venue, decoration, programming
   - Coordinate with Volunteer Committee regarding staffing of volunteers for the events
   - Train volunteers (event specific)
   - Create and distribute invitations and event information
   - Create and distribute thank-you letters to sponsors and in-kind donors
   - Recruit corporate participation
   - Design updates for local affiliate website, including photos and graphics, to provide to the technology committee
   - Coordinate with individuals and organizations for Third Party Events

FINANCE COMMITTEES:
